Okay, I just got back from watching F9 and my brain is still trying to process what I witnessed. I’ve been a fan of this franchise since the first movie dropped back in 2001 – you know, when it was actually about street racing and stealing DVD players. But this latest installment.

man, I don’t even know what to say. Let’s talk about that space scene. Seriously, the car in space I was sitting there with my popcorn halfway to my mouth, just staring at the screen wondering when we jumped from The Fast and the Furious to Gravity with muscle cars.

They launched a Pontiac Fiero into freaking orbit! And not just any Fiero – one that had been sitting in a barn for decades. Since when did this franchise become Interstellar with nitrous oide I remember watching the first movie where the most unbelievable thing was Vin Diesel lifting the front of his car during a race.

That was kinda cool and almost believable if you squinted. But now We’ve got cars swinging through jungles on magnetic cables like Tarzan, surviving mine eplosions without a scratch, and driving through active war zones without getting a single bullet hole. At this point, I’m pretty sure Dom Toretto could survive a nuclear blast if he had his car and family with him.

And speaking of family – how many times can they bring back dead characters I won’t spoil who comes back in this one, but come on! At this rate, I’m epecting Paul Walker’s character to return in Fast 10 because “family finds a way” or some magical eplanation. The emotional impact of character deaths means nothing when everyone just gets resurrected in the net movie.

The action sequences are getting so ridiculous that I found myself laughing during what were supposed to be serious moments. There’s a chase scene where they drive a car through the inside of a cargo plane while it’s crashing, and they just. walk away from it.

No seatbelts, no airbags, just pure plot armor. My friend leaned over and whispered “I think Dom’s skull is made of vibranium” and honestly, that might be the most plausible eplanation at this point. What happened to the simple days of racing for pink slips Remember when the biggest controversy was whether a 10-second car was actually possible Now we’ve got cars that are basically indestructible superheroes.

I miss the actual street racing culture that made the first few movies so special – the nitrous oide purges, the custom paint jobs, the actual modified cars you might see at a real car meet. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll probably still watch the net one because at this point I’m invested in this ridiculous universe. But part of me wishes they’d scale it back a bit.

Maybe have a movie where the biggest threat isn’t global destruction, but just winning a really important race. Remember when Johnny Tran and his crew just messed with people’s engines That felt so much more grounded and real. The stunts are impressive from a technical standpoint, I’ll give them that.

The practical effects team must be working overtime. But there’s a point where things become so over-the-top that you stop feeling any tension because you know the main characters are basically invincible. When Dom drove his car off a cliff and used a rope to swing to safety like some automotive Spider-Man, I just sighed and took another sip of my soda.

What do you guys think Am I just being nostalgic for the older movies, or has this franchise genuinely jumped the shark Is there anyone who actually prefers these ridiculous globe-trotting superhero missions over the simpler street racing stories And most importantly – where can they possibly go from here Fast & Furious 10: Mission to Mars Actually, don’t give them any ideas. I will say this though – the movie is never boring. It’s like they took every crazy idea from the writers’ room and said “screw it, let’s do them all.

” There’s a certain entertainment value in watching something so completely unhinged from reality. It’s like they’re in competition with themselves to top how absurd each previous movie was. But here’s my real question – at what point does it stop being a car movie and start being a superhero franchise where the superpower is driving Dom Toretto has survived things that would kill any normal human being ten times over.

He’s basically Captain America with a preference for Dodge Chargers at this point. I’m curious what longtime fans of the series think about this evolution. Do you still enjoy the direction, or do you find yourself missing the more grounded approach of the earlier films And for those who are newer to the franchise – does the over-the-top nature bother you, or is that eactly why you watch these movies
